A local New Zealand skincare company is wanting to say thanks to our nurses! In recognition of their tireless efforts and invaluable contributions to the community, Hark & Zander has been out and about gifting skincare products to our healthcare heroes.
Kirsty Harkness, the founder of Hark & Zander, has a personal connection being a trained nurse herself. This initiative is a heartfelt gesture to express gratitude and support for the nurses and our healthcare teams who work relentlessly to care for patients and families in our community.
"Nurses are the backbone of our healthcare system, providing compassionate care and unwavering support, often under the most challenging circumstances," says Harkness. "As a past nurse working at Auckland City Hospital and in London, I understand the physical and emotional demands of the profession”. Having left nursing and starting an award winning natural skincare company, Kirsty now feels in a blessed position to give back to her past colleagues “I am so thankful for my 20 years of nursing, it gave me an incredible foundation in life that I still value to this day”. After having a few experiences recently at starship with her daughter, and having a family member so well looked after in hospital earlier this year, Kirsty wanted to reach out and give back.
“I hope that our products can offer a small moment of self-care and relaxation to these incredible individuals who give so much of themselves every day."
Hark & Zander’s products have not only won over 20 international awards since starting 3 years ago, but they celebrate New Zealand by being packed full of our amazing botanicals like Kawakawa, Hawkes Bay Hempheart Oil, Mamuka, Manuka, Native red seaweed, and other active botanical extracts, making it a perfect gift for nurses who deserve to pamper themselves after long shifts.
This donation drive is taking place this week with Hark & Zander team members out and about personally delivering the products to Auckland City Hospital and Starship. The company is committed to making a positive impact in the lives of these healthcare professionals and demonstrating the community's appreciation for their relentless dedication. “It’s a more enjoyable life when you get the opportunity to show others value. And value these nurses we do” says Harkness. “Thank you for all you give! You are the true working out of the proverb ‘It is better to give than to receive’ as you give of yourselves every day to help others and it does not go unnoticed by the community.”
